Milwaukee Tool has introduced the M18 Brushless Pipe Threading Oiler, model 3874-20, a battery powered oil system for portable pipe threading. The company lists it at $599 on its US site and says it runs up to 8.5 hours on an M18 REDLITHIUM XC5.0 battery, holds 1 gallon of oil and weighs 21 lbs.
What Milwaukee announced
The oiler is a steel frame with a catch basin that attaches to a pipe vise. Milwaukee says it clamps on quickly and securely, which it expects to cut setup and teardown time. On the 6” Leveling Tripod Chain Vise (48-22-8690) the frame fixes to the stand legs so the basin sits close to the threading point, and the company claims 127 degrees of containment under the pipe.
Milwaukee contrasts this with current threading oilers, which it describes as manual hand pumps that force the user to slow the threader to get oil onto the dies. Its own list of features includes:
- An adjustable hose and flow rate, which Milwaukee says speeds up threading, extends die life and reduces oil waste.
- A 3-stage filter that separates chips from oil, so the oil can be recycled and clean-outs come less often.
- A sealed basin with an integrated carry handle for moving the unit between jobs.
- A 5-year warranty.

What the other sources add
The trade site pmmag.com reported the oiler on February 6, 2026 and said it was planned for Q3 2026. It repeats Milwaukee’s containment and filter claims but gives no price, oil capacity or weight, so Milwaukee is the only source for those figures. Milwaukee’s own product page adds practical limits: use standard thread cutting oils only, because other fluids may damage the pump and void the warranty, and clean the unit out at least every 6 months, or sooner if the flow drops.
The sources agree on the design. They differ only in how much they say, and every performance claim here comes from Milwaukee. The release gives no test data, and Torque Digest has not tested the oiler.

Price and availability
The $599 price is the one shown on Milwaukee’s US site, and the battery is sold separately. The release gives no ship date or retailer list and points to a Where To Buy page. No Canadian price or Canadian availability is stated in the sources, so Canadian buyers should check Milwaukee Tool Canada or a local dealer before planning a purchase.

Who it suits
- Plumbing contractors on the M18 platform: the oiler runs on the batteries they already carry, and the 1 gallon basin and 3-stage filter target long days of threading. Check that your threader is on Milwaukee’s compatible list, which names the M18 FUEL Pipe Threader and the Compact Pipe Threader with ONE-KEY.
- Renovation crews working in finished buildings: the containment claim is aimed at keeping oil off customer floors. Confirm how the basin sits on your own vise, since the 127 degree figure is given for the 6” Leveling Tripod Chain Vise.
- Crews threading in the shop: a sealed basin and carry handle make it easy to move, though at 21 lbs it is not light to carry up stairs.
- Fleet buyers: the 5-year warranty is a plus, but plan for the clean-out schedule and for oil type, because the warranty depends on using standard thread cutting oils.
- Occasional DIY users: at $599 plus a battery, this is a trade tool, and a hand pump may be enough for a few threads a year.
