Milwaukee Tool has announced the M18 FUEL STRIKER Hammer Chisel (3771-20), which the company calls the world’s first cordless hammer chisel for professional service technicians. The bare tool is priced at $599.00 in the United States, and one Ontario retailer lists it at $848.00 CAD on backorder.
How much does the STRIKER cost in Canada and the US?
Milwaukee’s release gives United States prices only: $599.00 for the 3771-20 bare tool, $129.97 for the 5PC Hammer Chisel Bit Set (49-16-3776) and $49.00 for the Protective Boot (49-16-3772). The release states no ship date and no Canadian price.
In Canada, Wise Line Tools lists the 3771-20 at $848.00 CAD with free Canada-wide shipping on this item, but marks it as backorder with no restock date. Power Tools Insider reported in June 2026 that the tool ships in September 2026 through Home Depot and authorized Milwaukee dealers, so check stock before you plan a purchase.

How does it compare with an air hammer?
Milwaukee says the POWERSTATE brushless motor delivers 7 joules of striking force, which the company equates to long barrel pneumatic hammers running at 145 PSI. The tool tops out at 3,000 BPM and weighs 7.2 lbs bare.
There are three selectable modes, including a ramp up mode that builds from 0 to 3,000 BPM as you squeeze the trigger, according to the Wise Line Tools listing and Vehicle Service Pros. Other listed features include a variable speed trigger, targeted LED lighting, REDLINK PLUS Intelligence and a patented battery isolation system meant to reduce vibration. All of this is Milwaukee’s own claim, and Torque Digest has not tested the tool.
Ryan Mack, Group Manager of Product Marketing at Milwaukee, said: “This level of performance allows technicians to confidently move away from air tools without sacrificing productivity”.
Does it work with my M18 batteries and air hammer bits?
Milwaukee says the STRIKER runs on M18 REDLITHIUM batteries and chargers, part of a system that now offers more than 300 solutions. The $599.00 price is for the tool only, so a battery and charger are extra if you are new to M18.
The twist style chuck accepts .401 in. round shank accessories. Power Tools Insider says existing air hammer bits fit without adapters. Milwaukee’s bit set uses 6.5 in. bits with a .401 in. round shank, and the 3-year warranty applies to the tool.

Who it suits
The sources agree on the target buyer: technicians who work on vehicles and want to leave the compressor behind. Beyond that, the fit depends on the reader.
- Mobile technician: no air hose or compressor is the core pitch, per Power Tools Insider. Check the 7.2 lbs bare weight plus a battery against your daily use.
- Shop technician already on M18: your batteries carry over, and the 145 PSI comparison is Milwaukee’s yardstick, so compare it with your current air hammer on a real job before you retire it.
- Fleet or crew buyer: price the tool, the $129.97 bit set and the $49.00 boot together, and ask a Canadian dealer for a ship date.
- Occasional DIY mechanic: Power Tools Insider calls $599 a professional level price and says it is probably not worth it for occasional home use. The $848.00 CAD listing in Canada makes that gap wider.
What should I do next?
Read the official 3771-20 product page and the press release, then ask a Canadian Milwaukee dealer for the current ship date and price in CAD. Milwaukee has not published either.
