DEWALT has added a 6-1/2 in. plunge track saw to its 20V MAX XR platform. The saw, model DCS525B, was part of a carpentry range the company announced on August 11, 2026, and the release says the range is now available where DEWALT products are sold. The release gives no prices and no Canadian dates, so readers in Canada should check dewalt.ca and local retailers before planning a purchase.
Three versions and two blades
According to DEWALT’s newsroom, the saw comes in three forms: the bare tool DCS525B, the DCS525ST, which is a bare tool packaged with tracks, and the DCS525STWW1 kit. The kit adds an 8Ah battery, a charger, a track connecting rod and two 30-inch tracks, which together make a 60-inch track system.
Two 6-1/2 in. blades were announced for it: the DWA261248TS, a 48T fine finish blade, and the DWA261224TS, a 24T general purpose blade. On the bare tools, DEWALT says the battery and charger are sold separately.

What the maker claims
The product page for the DCS525B lists these claims, all of them from DEWALT and tied to footnoted test conditions:
- Up to 94% dust capture when cutting at 90 degrees with the DWS5130 dual sided track, which is sold separately, and with a vacuum, also sold separately
- Wireless tool control, which starts a compatible vacuum from the saw’s trigger
- Up to 70 cuts, or rip cuts up to 280 linear feet of 3/4 in. MDF
- A kickback brake that shuts the saw off when it detects a pinch, a stall or a bind
Brandon Stumpf, DEWALT’s Senior Director of Product Management, said, “We know pros need tools that can match the speed of the job without compromising on control or quality.” That is a maker’s statement, not a test result, and no independent runtime or accuracy figures were available in the sources we read.
Price and where it is sold
Burns Tools, a US retailer, lists the DCS525B bare tool at $429.00 USD as a special order that ships in 7-10 days. It also says the saw can rip solid hardwoods up to 2-1/8 in. thick. Prices can change at any time, and this one applies to the US listing only. DEWALT has not announced Canadian pricing in the sources above.

The rest of the range
The same release covers a 5 in. random orbital sander, the DCW211B, rated by DEWALT at up to 50 sq ft per charge, and a 6 in. model, the DCW230B, at up to 200 sq ft per charge. It also lists a 16GA straight finish nailer, the DCN220B, that is 3.1 in. wide and fires up to five nails per second, and an 18GA brad nailer, the DCN210B, at up to five nails per second.
Who it suits
- Finish carpenters and cabinet installers: the dust port, wireless vacuum start and kickback brake are aimed at you. Check that the track system covers your longest sheet.
- Serious DIYers: the kit with tracks and an 8Ah battery is the simplest start. Budget for a vacuum if dust control matters in your shop.
- Anyone already on 20V MAX: the bare tool saves money if you own batteries. Confirm your pack is large enough for long rip cuts, since DEWALT’s runtime claims depend on its footnoted conditions.
- First time buyers: the track and blade choice matter as much as the saw, so price the whole set before comparing.
- Crew buyers: one platform for the saw, sanders and nailers keeps batteries interchangeable, but wait for Canadian pricing before ordering in bulk.
Before buying, read the footnotes on DEWALT’s page, because the dust and cut-count figures were measured by the maker under specific conditions.
