Milwaukee Tool has added two M18 FUEL 3/4” high torque impact wrenches with ONE-KEY to its heavy duty fastening range. The standard anvil 2964 and the 6” extended anvil 2969 both claim up to 2,000 ft-lbs of nut busting torque, according to Milwaukee’s press release, which the company also posted on its Canadian site dated August 13, 2026.

What Milwaukee announced

The standard model is listed as the 2964-20 bare tool at $499 and the 2964-22 kit at $849. The kit includes two M18 FORGE XC 8.0 Ah batteries, an M18/M12 Rapid Charger and a hard case. Milwaukee gives the bare tool weight as 8.1 lbs and says one XC 8.0 charge can run up to 120 1-1/4” bolts.

The extended anvil model is the 2969-20 bare tool at $599 and the 2969-22 kit at $949, with the same two batteries and charger plus a side handle. It weighs 9.3 lbs bare and adds a Lug-Nut Snug Mode. Milwaukee says one charge covers up to 10 tires or 100 lug nuts. Protective boots for each model are $49.

Both tools quote 1,800 ft-lbs of fastening torque and a maximum of 2,000 RPM. Milwaukee claims up to 40% faster removal than cordless and pneumatic competition, a claim we have not seen independently tested. The product page adds that in reverse the tool runs at full speed until the nut breaks free, then slows to 750 RPM, and that Mode 4 auto shut-off limits forward fastening to 75 ft-lbs.

How it compares with the smaller 2864

Pro Tool Reviews has covered Milwaukee’s earlier friction ring 3/4” wrench, the 2864. It lists 1,200 ft-lbs of fastening torque, 1,500 ft-lbs of loosening torque, 6.3 lbs and $299 bare. The same outlet says most users can get by with a Mid-Torque wrench and that the 2864 suits jobs needing more than 550 ft-lbs of fastening and 650 ft-lbs of loosening torque. The new pair is heavier, at 8.1 lbs and 9.3 lbs bare.

Price and availability in Canada and the US

The release shows plain dollar amounts and does not name a currency. It does not give Canadian dollar pricing, Canadian retailers or a ship date. Check with a Canadian Milwaukee distributor before budgeting, and treat the listed figures as the US style list prices only.

Who it suits

  • Heavy equipment and fleet mechanics: the extended anvil and Lug-Nut Snug Mode target tire and wheel work. Check that your sockets and impact rated extensions match the 3/4” drive.
  • Industrial, steel and wind crews: the repeatable torque settings through ONE-KEY help, but confirm the torque your spec calls for sits inside the stated range.
  • Anyone already on M18: the batteries and charger carry over, so the bare tool is the cheaper route.
  • Occasional users and DIYers: Pro Tool Reviews points most people to a mid torque wrench, so this is likely more tool than you need.
