Craftsman has released a limited edition holiday advent calendar for 2026, the 12 Days of CRAFTSMAN Advent Calendar (model CMMT12426, listed as CMMT12426A at some retailers). Instead of chocolate, each day hides a hand tool or accessory, and the boxes add up to a compact 3/8 in. drive socket kit that lives in a VERSASTACK case.
Craftsman says the contents are worth up to $200, a figure its product page bases on the MSRP of the items priced individually. The brand also calls it a limited run that will not be around for long.
What is inside
Craftsman lists the full contents on its official product page:
- VERSASTACK case
- 3/8 in. ratchet and a 3 in. drive extension bar
- 1/4 in. drive magnetic nut driver
- 11-piece bit set
- 3/8 in. drive 6 point standard sockets in 10mm, 12mm, 13mm, 14mm, 15mm and 16mm
- 3/8 in. drive 6 point standard sockets in 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2 and 9/16 in.
- Two extra 10mm sockets
- Bottle opener, tape measure key chain, magnetic pick-up tool and a stubby slotted screwdriver
ToolGuyd summed it up as a socket set with a VERSASTACK case and some extras, and pointed out the two spare 10mm sockets, the size that tends to go missing first. Its readers noted that the calendar has no exclusive or new tool inside, so everything in it can be bought separately.
The hidden reward
Each calendar includes what Craftsman calls a hidden reward: a bonus deal on a future Craftsman purchase. The offer terms on the brand’s advent calendar page describe a voucher for one free Craftsman 2AH battery (CMCB202 or CMCB202-HPG). To qualify, buyers must spend $100 or more on Craftsman products in a single transaction between 11/1/26 and 1/31/27 at participating Lowe’s, Ace Hardware or Blain’s Farm & Fleet stores, or on Amazon.com when Amazon itself is the seller.
The catches are worth reading before you count on the battery. You must join the free CRAFTSMAN Club, submit a valid receipt online by the deadline, and the battery is redeemed at craftsman.com only. Craftsman says it ships within 8 weeks of a validated claim, limits the offer to one battery per household, and makes it available only in the contiguous United States, excluding Alaska and Hawaii. Craftsman also says it may change or cancel the offer at any time.
Price and where to buy
Prices vary by store. ToolGuyd listed the calendar at $50 at Ace and $65 at Lowe’s. SlashGear reported in September that it was selling for $64.99 on Amazon, which at that point was the only place to get it. These are prices reported at the time of writing in the United States and can change at any time. Craftsman has not announced availability or pricing for other markets.
What it means for you
If you want a small 3/8 in. socket kit for a car trunk, a kitchen drawer or a first toolbox, this covers the most common metric and SAE sizes with a ratchet, an extension and a case that stacks with other VERSASTACK storage. It is not a full mechanics set: there are no deep sockets and the metric range stops at 16mm, so experienced DIYers who already own a set will find little new here.
As a gift, the countdown format adds some fun, and the battery voucher can add real value if you were already planning a Craftsman purchase of $100 or more. Check the store price before buying, since the gap between retailers is significant.
